SQLServerGuides.com is a free learning site for Microsoft SQL Server. It was founded by Bijay Kumar, a 13-time Microsoft MVP, to give beginners and working developers clear, practical tutorials that solve real database problems, with the exact T-SQL, the SSMS screens and the result.

Why this site exists

Making SQL Server Easy to Learn and Use

Most database questions start with a real task: a report that needs a date filter, a query that suddenly runs slowly, a login that stops working, or an error message nobody has seen before. Official documentation explains every option, but it rarely shows the fastest way to get that one job done.

SQL Server Guides fills that gap. Each tutorial takes one task or problem and walks through it step by step in plain English, from creating your first database in SQL Server Management Studio to stored procedures, functions, indexes, permissions and troubleshooting.

Meet the founder

Bijay Kumar, 13-Time Microsoft MVP

Bijay Kumar has more than 18 years of hands-on experience building applications on Microsoft technologies, including SQL Server, ASP.NET, C#, SharePoint and Azure. Microsoft has recognized his technical expertise and community contributions with the Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award 13 times.

He has worked with HP, TCS and KPIT, including as a SharePoint architect, where SQL Server was the database behind most of the applications he designed and delivered. Today he leads TSInfo Technologies, a Microsoft-focused development company that builds solutions for clients across the United States and Europe.

That day-to-day work is where the tutorials on this site come from: designing tables and indexes, writing stored procedures and functions, tuning slow queries, managing logins and permissions, and fixing the errors that hold real projects up. Bijay also shares Microsoft tutorials on SPGuides.com and EnjoySharePoint.com.
